"This has been our favorite Japanese restaurant for years. Whenever we need a pick-me-up meal, or to celebrate something, or simply to go out, we know we can count on this place. The food quality is consistent and the service is always so friendly."
"Mangetsu City, a centrally located Japanese restaurant, offers a decent dining experience with a unique twist. While the atmosphere might lack warmth, the food is undeniably the star of the show – fresh, flavorful dishes arriving quickly to satisfy any craving. Service is efficient, but it's the memorable encounters that truly set this place apart. As a tourist, I had an amusing exchange with an older woman who, in a mix of German and Japanese, informed me it was closing time, prompting a quick check of Google Maps to confirm their hours. Overall, Mangetsu City is a decent option for a quick and tasty Japanese meal, but be prepared for some potentially interesting interactions and a possible hasty exit."
"(4th visit) I’m not sure what the exact flavor was, but the udon had a strong, miso-like aroma this time, which was a bit distracting. (2024) The Udon was a bit salty but really delicious!! I really loved the noodle:) A variety of fries and fried tofu sushi were also nice (3rd visit) The taste was okay, but it was total different from before. The soup was not as salty and didn’t have a deep flavor."
"We had a lovely Valentine's day dinner here. The food was delicious as always"
"We had an amazing dinner here, and the food was absolutely delicious. If you’re looking for a place to enjoy drinks and authentic Japanese izakaya food, this is the perfect spot. The atmosphere reminded me of being in Osaka or Tokyo, making the experience even more special. The flavors were rich, the dishes were well-prepared, and the service was great. Highly recommend this place for anyone who loves Japanese food!"
"One of the best Japanese restaurant (or Izakaya?) in the town! Really loved their seasonal menu (which always have something that’s not usually served in other Japanese restaurants) such as Buri Kama! The aroma of the char grilled yellowtail chin was great The Jakobsmuscheln Capaccio is so good, but I think the sauce is a little too overpowering, the Muscheln itself is fresh and sweet. Hangetsu set was great for one person to enjoy! Sashimi nigiri was fresh, the chef has good skill of making nigiri all the sushi fits great for a bite, enjoyed every bites and every pieces of it! Niku Udon flavour was good but the beef is abit overcooked, slightly hard to chew … Chazuke was also decent. Enjoy dining here, with great food great atmosphere (just a little sad they only serve the Chawanmushi in their main shop but not this outlet ) Highly recommended! Reservation is also recommended"
"A Decent experience! The Sushi was absolutely delicious, a true highlight. The atmosphere was quite pleasant and inviting. Service was acceptable, nothing outstanding, but it got the job done. I'd definitely return for the Sushi, their Ramen is hideous."
"Fantastic food, looking forward to my next visit. Very friendly and attentive staff too."
